Hydrophilia I
The Salvaged Net Series is an ongoing body of large scale non-traditional tapestries created from discarded gillnets collected by the Columbia River Fishermanʼs Projective Union where the Columbia meets the Pacific, and of nets and ropes collected from the Pacific shorelines of Oahu. The series explores the Oceanic concept of water as a means of connection, and the possibility of reclamation through re-embracing of “old” technologies and thought systems considered to be useless and obsolete.
